Featuring vocalist MJ, Marianne Tooley, and Thierryno Gangou on keys, with Mike Collinson on sax, Jeremy Goinden on drums, and Jonathan Chen on bass, Mike Collinson on sax and flute, Robert Bresland on trumpet, Jeremy Greig on trombone.

The Jazz Makers have a knack for taking familiar songs and making them sound fresh and new. They do this by adding their own unique blend of jazz, blues, and soul. The result is a sound that is both catchy and sophisticated.  Some of the songs that The Jazz Makers have covered:

* “Valerie” by Amie Winehouse
* “I Will Survive” by Gloria Gaynor
* “In the air tonight by Phil Collins

The lovely and extraordinarily talented Helen Shanahan, is in support.  Helen, the award-winning folk singer/songwriter from Perth, has sung backing vocals for Tim Minchin and supported the likes of Jackson Browne, The Waifs, Missy Higgins, Birds of Tokyo, and Pete Murray.  Her sophomore album ‘Canvas’ was released in 2022, recorded remotely with Brad Jones (Nashville) and described as “poetic and damn near perfect” (Jeff Jenkins, STACK Magazine).

Helen will be performing her original songs, along with some classics from Joni Mitchell, Carole King and Fleetwood Mac.

So come on down to the Quarry Amphitheatre on Jan 21st, BYO picnic & alcohol & have a dance on stage!
